Around the house
The hamlet of Kerustum is set in a 3 hectares park surrounded by farmland, well away from busy roads it offers a calm and safe enviroment. Our guest are free to explore the property for a siesta, picnic, painting etc. You will appreciate the mature Oak trees, woods and meadow. You can follow the lane down to the coastal path and go for a swim. The best of Brittany !
The neighborhood
Kerustum hamlet is on a strip of land between two tidal estuaries. (The Aven is navigable up to the town of Pont Aven, made famous by the artist Gauguin, the Belon is also navigable and is famous the World over for Oysters. The environment around Kerustum hamlet is simply stunning and very child friendly. We like to think of Kerustum as a sanctuary of peace and quiet surrounded by unspoilt nature. There are woods and meadows, and with no nearby roads, the silence is surprising. Very little light pollution provides a chance to see the stars as seldom seen. Down the hill from Kerustum is the picturesque small harbor of Rosbras, here you will find Marie and Lionel at their Bistro, ready to welcome sailboats and locals for a drink or dinner at sunset. A little bit further along the river is the locals favorite swimming spot known as “Goult-riec” The center of Pont Aven is less than a 20 min walk along the country lane and the river side path. The best beaches are found on the other side of the river Aven You can choose between the local surf spot at Dorveil, or the child friendly beaches at Port Manech, Rospico and Kersidan. For those of you looking for solitude, we recommend the beach known as Tahiti because of its fabulous white sand, or the naturist beach on the “Point de Trevignon”.
